Job Summary:
This position is responsible for performing the basic functions of Production Support including fabrication, shipping, receiving, stocking, job staging, return merchandise, and supply inventory management and acquisition.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain all areas (tools, supplies, parts, equipment, special orders, and shop) in a neat, clean, and organized condition.
- FABRICATION: build shelves, racks, panels, and assemble as needed for jobs pending installation and for predetermined inventory.
- JOB STAGING: Label and sort materials for upcoming jobs.
- SUPPLY INVENTORY: Complete Inventory Check Sheets weekly for supplies purchasing.
- SHIPPING: Pack, crate, palletize shipments, complete shipping documents, and assure pickup as required.
- RMA PROCESSING - Pack, crate, palletize shipments, complete RMA, and shipping documents, and assure pickup as required.
- RECEIVING: Inspect and receive shipments, note quantities against packing slips, and restock.
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform routine lubrication and other required maintenance for shop tools and equipment.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending required educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
- Protects operations by keeping financial information, business plans, operational plans, and operating procedures confidential.
- Contributes to team effort by attending and contributing to weekly staff meetings, maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude, and accomplishing related tasks as needed
Applicants must meet the following requirements/skills/qualifications:
- High mechanical aptitude
- The ability to understand fabrication drawings
- Competency in Microsoft Windows and standard office software
- Communication skills - Able to communicate with vendors and shipping companies
- Leadership qualities - Able to establish leadership and cooperation with others who utilize the shop/warehouse area. Must have a sense of urgency and responsibility about executing the requirements of this position
- Attentive to detail
